Student Participation Self-Evaluation

 Dear Professor Blackstone,

Thank you for educating me for the last 13 weeks. Your insights and teachings have given me a better understanding of the needs and ways to communicate to people in presentations and how to write in a more comprehensive way.

For my own evaluation, I believe I warrant a level of "good" for my participation as I have made good effort to be present for every class as well as giving my utmost attention to people presenting. Additionally, I do my best in assisting my classmates during peer evaluation or when they require help in their writing.

Best regards,

Isaac Lee

Thus, I came to the conclusion that engineering was the right fit for me. In my area of weaknesses, my biggest struggle is my capacity to speak in front of a random audience, large or unfamiliar. This is usually due to me being greatly stressed over...

Interpretation of the Quote

“While all engineers should have good communication skills, global engineers face additional challenges, making effective communication an imperative.” Debra Kraft, Careers Content Writer, Demand Media (2016)   My Interpretation of this quote:  Global engineers face more language barriers and cultural differences as compared to engineers who work locally mainly.  Thus, although engineers need to have good communication skills to communicate ideas effectively. Global engineers have the added challenge of needing to understand more social and cultural norms in the location they are working in.
